bloods update
Had some bloods this morning on the way to work

INR 3.2 (perfect)
kidney and liver function OK
Cholesterl 6.05 (oops- rheum wont be happy)
FBC = anaemic
Iron studies LOW+++
CRP 10
ESR 50 (considering I'm on imuran, thats not good, mine never above 20 on
meds usually)

Other autoimmune stuff coming (had to be sent to Sydney so may not be back
till MOnday). SO I'm not only tired because i'm a workaholic, I'm also iron
deficient. That explains a bit i guess..
ESR up means I expect he will want to put me back on prednisone. Since I
touched base with you all a week or two ago (after the dizzy spells) my
Raynauds in my hands has gone psycho - has been absent for 2 years. I can
feel steroids coming on-----(if not a hospital admission) damn!

Here, that test is invariably followed by "And that's too high, you must
get it down" - "But it's less than the target you set last time!" - "Ah,
but they've changed the target again."

Memo: get shares in a Statin maker..

Re: bloods update
OH oh.
Now wonder Lyndal was so tired and weak. Grab some raisens and maybe a
little vitamin B's to help push that up. If you take the pills of iron you
might get that "other end bound or working too much" depending on what iron
pills do to you
Glad to see the liver and kidney function was ok.

SED rate? holey moley was what the rheumey told me when she saw my 50 plus.
And YES time for upping medrol which I had to do for 2 months and then stay
higher than usual.
NOW Lyndal maybe a shot in the buttinsky of medrol will help ya LOL. LOVE
Them right?
NOW I will set here and wait on the "other tests"
LET us know now

hugs to you and by the way? Rheumy is sending me to ortho for my heels and
feet but it will take till AUG 23 to see him. I have to call them weekly to
see if they got openings because they do NOT take waits or fill ins. she
did call me back and say how is the pain level from ONE TO FIVE? I told her
a BIG OLD 4 at times but mostly the damning 5
hehe NOT funny I know .

take care and hey, put on a pair or cool soft gloves that kling to your
fingers. maybe that will help Mr. Ray

hugs
janers

Re: bloods update
I did a CBC and Protime last week. INR=2.5 (low) and I hav a Hematocrit
of 35 (should be 40+. I take iron 3x a day and can't figure out how to
get this number back up there. My RBC was so low last time I was in the
hospital they gave me transfusions! I can go back to plasmapheresis
when my crit gets above 38 and that's $400. a pint, $1,200 a month when
taht happens. The way I spend money, I could use the extra dough!

But I'm off Cytoxan after 3 1/2 years straight and down to 5mg of Pred.
I'm being weaned off the opiates to where I'm taking 1/4th of what I
was 2 months ago (my choice with that). That's something, huh? It's
nice to be taking only a few meds a day now instead of little cups
full!

Re: bloods update
The anticardiolipi antibodies IgG and IgM are both up (no surprise there).
Ana is positive but only low range and ds DNA remains negative, so still
looking like APS without lupus. Also scored positive for B2 glycoprotein
this time (which just increases my risk for another thrombotic event- yee
haa)

Got a stinking headache and feeling pretty cranky with all this. I know the
rheumy is going to stick me on more nasty drugs (at the very least) and
probably want to do a ton of tests.. grrrrr..
