Constant oral herpes tingling???
Hi,

I know I have been on prednisone and that could be a factor in my
herpes activity being increased. Well this past week I have been
noticing the same kind of tingling I get down yonder, except this is on
my top lip mostly and its happening sporatically every day. I already
ended up with a cold sore and I am still getting this sensation and I
am wondering if this is still the herpes or what?

It feels like someone is pinching my lip with a pin which is also
electrically charged, or kind of like an electrical sensation. I think
this is the herpes, but I dont understand why it keeps happening even
though the cold sore already appeared?

Monday I started getting the electrical sensation on the top lip, and
then wednesdsay my top lip was red and swollen and by wednesday night
my bottom lip was sore to the touch and itchy and red in one area. Now
I still have this cold sore, but it is less sore, although at the same
time I am still getting this annoying electrical tingling or pinch.

Yes, the two don't mix at all.

It could very well still be the oral herpes.

Well, if it is herpes related sometimes these symptoms can happen before,
during, and after an outbreak.

I don't really know what else to tell you Al. What do you take to treat your
oral herpes? If you aren't taking anything to try and treat these symptoms
then perhaps it will take some time for your symptoms to go away. ya know?

Hang in there,

Angela

I sometimes use Abreva, but usually just wait for it to go away. Its
alot better now, but have a slight red area below my bottom lip, I
think its almost gone and the tingling is gone also. You don't get oral
herpes at all?

You are one of the lucky ones in that respect. Actually I never had
oral herpes until recently. I think a previous girlfriend gave it to me
in the last 2 years. I had genital a long time, but the oral seems to
be a new problem.
