East Coast USA Group members
I am hoping and praying that all of you on the east coast of the USA are
high and dry! The flooding is horrible.

Hugs,
Sherry

Soaking wet! The rain should stop soon and they are predicting a nice
weekend. One area near me (about 15 miles away as the crow flies or a 25
minute car trip) has received 27.27 inches of rain. We live in a very high
spot - we are ( the house is) 100 feet above sea level right here. But my
ground is soaking wet! Another big rain front is to move through tomorrow
afternoon. The corn is loving it and has tripled in size in the last week.

We went to see a friend Sunday and had to drive through high water to get
there. Good thing hubby was driving because I would have never dared to
attempt it. We saw fish jumping in the water in the road! Little creeks had
over flowed along with the run-off on the fields just flooded the back
roads! My daughter last electricity for hours the other night because with
the storm came winds that knocked a major power line down.

But we are safe and dry. The carriage house is flooded inside but that
happens with any major rain. Thank goodness hubby got the chimney flashing
sealed before all this hit. So I have had no water seeping into the house
around the chimneys. (I just love my old house :-/ You never know what is
going to spring a leak!)

My daylilies are loving this weather as it is perfect for them . They love
the extra water when they are in bloom. And for those who don't know, I love
daylilies so I have all these wonderful colors all around the yard.

The ha-ha wall that surrounds two sides of our house keeps the water well
drained from the dirt but it is still draining in areas and wetting the
sidewalk. Just one more big storm predicted for tomorrow. I hope it moves
through quickly and doesn't stall over us. I've had it with rain and to
think they were talking about how we did not have enough rain in the area
for the first few months of this year. Problem is we will need some of it
later - as in August - and it won't happen. Mother Nature just loves to play
with us!

Tonight's low will be 76 -78 F with humidity in the 89 % range, muggy, muggy
weather! Tomorrows high of 90 should be just enough to fire off some wicked
thunderstorms in the afternoon!

I get to baby-sit my new 4- legged grandson all day tomorrow. Just what I
need thunderstorms and a puppy that is learning to "go" outside! LOL
