select agent policy and procedure
Do any of you have a current policy concerning the handling of
specimens suspected of infection with select agents in your lab? By
select agents, I mean anthrax, avian flu, tularemia, etc. as defined by
the CDC. I am currently in the process of drafting a policy for the
clinical lab here at St Jude, and if someone already has one in place
that they would be willing to share, I would greatly appreciate it.

Re: select agent policy and procedure
You mean like the live ones the CDC sent out last year for culture
proficiency testing. Once they relized the "DA" in this idea, they tried to
get all them back. Code Red! Sorry, no don't know of one, interesting
question to ask our micro sectionhead.
