d00d, if your doctor yells at you, ditch him. He should have at the
very least taken the time to explain your condition, which doesn't
sound all that bad. There are several stages of fibrosis, and most
people with HCV are in one of them. It can progress to cirrhosis and
lead to other complications, which are more serious. You need another
doctor, preferably a Gastroenterologist.

You speak as though you have received a death sentence, which is
hardly the case. You did not give very detailed information, but it
sounds like you have plenty of viable options (none of which are
terribly pleasant) and a good chance to successfully clear the virus.
You just have a crappy doctor.
There are several courses of treatment available, and you need to
find a doctor who is willing to speak to you about the options based
on your personal medical information. From what you describe, you
aren't anywhere near needing a transplant or in danger of dying from
HCV anytime soon.
Do some research on your own, perk yourself up, and find a new
doctor that doesn't yell. For what they cost, they should serve you
coffee, shine yer shoes, and park your car while they're at it.
