my car was wrecked
Yesterday while driving down the highway, a young man pulled right in
front of me..unavoidable collision. He completely ignored the stop
sign. I believe he burned his brakes out coming down the canyon that the
road led up. He said he had been driving "cool". Translation: I was
going down that twisty road like a jackass.

My car is fairly well smashed up on the front.

I'm ok, just whiplash soreness and generally sore all over. My seatbelts
did their thing.

Now I'm hoping, really hoping that my car is completely repairable and
that they don't total it. It has MAJOR sentimental value to me as well
as having been in *excellent* condition both mechanically and visually.

Tires were exactly 1 week old. Timing belt was new, clutch was newish..

This sucks.

Sorry to hear this Franz Glad that you are fairly o.k. It is such
a shock when you have an accident.

Close call (

I had to walk past a serious crash this afternoon - two cars all tangled
up together, at the entrance to a filling station. Two fire-engines, two
ambulances, road totally blocked - which is why I had to get off the bus
and walk. Shakes one up just seeing the mess, let alone being in the
middle of it all.

On my walk to catch the bus to school back in uni. I crossed an intersection
that I would swear was cursed. I personally saw 8 crashes there, and it was
from that intersection that a young woman was abducted in a van.. as part
of some gang initiation.
