Not really, I am female, I did research for an article on pedophilia,
and met abused children and social workers who had to deal with those
children.. their stories were awful. I sat and listened as one social
worker told me about a little boy of five who had been so abused by his
father and his fathers pedophile friends that when the social worker
came to get him the boy came and sat on his knee and pulled the mans zip
down waiting for the man to abuse him ..
The poor guy hardly knew what to do, he said he wanted to throw up,
instead he had to smile and tell the little boy he didnt have to do that
anymore, but he knew that the child would carry the scars both mentally
and physically for the rest of his life.
Obviously the child went into care and obviously he had specialist
treatment but it doesn't make the past go away.
That was not the worst I heard not by any means their are things I
wouldnt repeat to anyone from that time, I wouldnt want to give them the
nightmares that I had afterwards.

I am not a criminologist, however I do and have had to take on board
things that would turn most peoples stomachs.. I have friends in the
police force who would tell me the real stories not the sanitized
versions that the media tell or that go into true crime stories and
films.
I learned to keep a poker face, because I had to, and I learned to deal
with almost anything even if I did break down and cry later .
If you have studied pedophilia and not just the sanitised versions Don
then you know exactly where I am coming from, if you have only studied
the cases in files, and in stories and have never met children like
this, or talked to the people who actually have to deal with the hell it
leaves behind then you are not dealing with the reality of it on a day
to day basin.
I don't know anyone who has had to deal with the reality who is not
angry about it, and not fighting to change it.
I don't have any forgiveness in me for pedophiles, I cant forgive what
they do, they not only wreck the child, they wreck the whole family who
often blame themselves for what happened.
The children themselves often blame themselves as well, as if they were
in any way responsible for what the abuser did to them. But they still
feel the guilt.
