Re: Aspirin Triad Syndrome
Hi Pat,
Aspirin triad is also known as Samter's syndrome or Samter's Triad, and
there are treatments available. Leukotriene modifying drugs such as
Singulair will help you substantially. The best (for me) was Zyflo.
It's been discontinued, but a company will be resuming production soon.
A diet high in fish oil may also help. There are other alternative
treatments such as aspirin desensitization available as well.
Please visit and join the yahoo group at
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/samters/ for information on this
disease. I hope that the scientists on this list will also visit.
I've also started a Wikipedia entry on the subject at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samter%27s_triad and I invite discussion
and contribution there as well.
Thanks
