An Informational post about this newsgroup for Newcomers
[This is a weekly post and may contain dated material]

CHARTER:

Alt.Support.Impotence (ASI) is a Non-Commercial Usenet Newsgroup whose
purpose is to provide information, support and encouragement to men and the
sexual partners of men who suffer from Premature Ejaculation (PE) or
Erectile Dysfunction (ED), also known as Impotence. Both ED and PE are
generally referred to here as ED. It is not a moderated newsgroup, but
participants are expected to follow posting guidelines as set forth below.

WHO IS WELCOME TO PARTICIPATE IN THE NEWSGROUP?

Any person, male or female, of any sexual orientation, from puberty through
to old age who suffers from ED, is a sexual partner of an ED sufferer, or
who has an interest in the matter for any reason other than commercial.
Medical professionals are always welcome to contribute, and have provided
valuable information many times in the past.

WHO IS NOT WELCOME TO PARTICIPATE?

--Trolls, defined as persons who contribute simply to disrupt the
discussions or inject frivolous topics --Anyone with a commercial interest,
including those who pose as ED sufferers in order to encourage others to
purchase items or services. --Anyone who will be offended by frank and open
discussion of sexual matters pertaining to ED, PE or related interpersonal
problems. Be warned that these discussions may contain detailed
descriptions of sexual acts; heterosexual, homosexual or masturbatory.
These discussions are not intended to arouse anyone sexually, but whether
they do or not is largely up to the reader's perceptions.

WHAT TOPICS ARE APPROPRIATE IN THE NEWSGROUP?

--Erectile Dysfunction, regardless of the cause; Functional (physical) or
mental; questions, causes, remedies, experiences and advice. --Problems in
a relationship caused by or contributed to by ED or PE. --Premature
Ejaculation; questions, causes, remedies, experiences and advice.
--Discussions of ED and PE therapies, cures, sexual aids or anything else
which may inform or enlighten about the subject.

WHAT IS NOT APPROPRIATE IN THE NEWSGROUP?

--Graphics, binaries or file attachments, wallpaper or stationary.
--Postings including HTML code. Please configure your newsreader for text
only. --Spam or any commercial solicitation of any kind intended to profit
the poster. --Cross-posting of messages to several newsgroups except in
special cases --Flaming. This does not, of course, exclude sincere
disagreement and heated discussion. Any contributor is entitled to his
opinion. You don't have to agree, but disagreements can be discussed in a
civil manner. --Fictional accounts, stories or narratives whether on or off
topic designed primarily to cause sexual arousal. This does not exclude the
occasional humorous contribution (joke) whether sexual or not. --Messages
in all upper case. This is simple netiquette. Upper case is reserved for
shouting. --Off-topic postings and threads. It is realized that deviations
from topic will occur from time to time, but they should be kept to a
minimum and transferred to a more appropriate newsgroup when it becomes
evident that the off-topic thread will be lengthy.

LEGAL INFORMATION:

You should assume the newsgroup participants are not medical professionals
unless they specifically identify themselves as such. Even when a
participant is identified as a medical professional, be aware that reliably
accurate medical diagnosis is virtually impossible through postings to a
newsgroup. The advice presented on the newsgroup is for informational
purposes only, and reflects only the personal experiences and observations
of the contributor. You should consult with a medical professional, in
person, before following any advice or treatment regimens presented here.
