What is your HbA1c? What has it been?
I don't have a crystal ball. Your nephrologist doesn't either, but s/he
can do a biopsy. IF you have diabetic nephropathy and your HbA1c has
been 7.2% or below since dx and you're taking an ACE inhibitor or an
ARB, best guess is 20+ years until dialysis is needed.
This guess is based on: absolutely normal (yay!) GFR, non-nephrotic
range proteinuria, assumption of diabetic nephropathy, assumption of
standard care for diabetics presenting with proteinuria, and normal
progression of DN in diabetics who maintain excellent/good control of
BG. Individuals vary, and this in no way constitutes medical advice or
anything other than an educated guess.
