I am Canadian and our creatinine normal is 50 - 90, so I was told. I read in
some newsgroup mailings that USA readings of 1.? to 2.? are above normal.
Does anyone know how to translate these into Canadian readings? For example,
in diabetes ratings if you multiply the Canadian value of blood sugar x 18
you then get the USA value (9.0 x 18 = 162).

I think the GFR rates are the same in both countries. My last GFR was 16 and
I am waiting to be processed for dialysis.

To the best of my knowledge -

g/dl (US) = SI (Canadian) * 88.49558
SI (Canadian) = g/dl (US) * 0.0113

and the normal range is: .5 - 1.7 g/dl, 44 - 150 SI

My thanks. This helps me understand better
