I am in kidney failure, waiting for final preparation for dialysis next
month. Is there a kidney user group that is monitored, that does not have
all the commercial type stuff including sale of body parts, where one can
get advice from others in the same situation?

I had absolutely no idea what kind of animal a 'bit.listserver' group was,
so Googled for it and found this link very informative:

http://www.faqs.org/faqs/medicine/transplant-faq/part1/

It includes information on how to subscribe, and MANY related links.
However, it does not appear to have been updated since 2002.

While it is true that the bit.listserv.transplant FAQ has not been
updated recently it is chock full of facts and tips for anyone in need
of or having had a organ transplant. I worked with Mike on the FAQ
about a year ago and he knows that a number of the links in the FAQ
are no longer viable and promises to update the FAQ as soon as he has
time. There is a wealth of information in the four part
bit.listserv.transplant FAQ and I would recommend reading it to anyone
who is in need of an organ, who has had an organ transplant, or is a
caregiver.
