Hi this is Joanne and I have an 8 year old son who received his first
kidney transplant when he was 18 months old. Everything went beautiful
and he enjoyed excellent health until Aug of last year. This is when
they changed one of his medications. He went into reject and was put on
Ganciclovir and high doses of prednesolone. This caused steroid induced
diabeties. To complicate things he is now positive for CMV and EBV.
His creatine has not gone below 2.4 sice all this started. Before all
this is was .2
So it looks like we are in for a bumpy 2006 We are now home schooling
as
he has missed over 50% of the school year. I would love to connect with
other moms who have young children with transplants. Sometimes I feel
isolated. I am also looking to find others who use alternative methods
along with what their Dr. recommend. I have Zach on a liquid mineral
and we really watch diet for him ( I on the other hand have ballooned
due to stress eating!!) I have also used essential oils. I have 4
other children so live is never boring here. I hope to give support as
well as find some. Feel free to email me any time

Joanne you might like to take a look at Kidney Patient Guide
http://kidneypatientguide.org.uk/ne...ewforum.php?f=2
It's UK based but there are a lot of supportive mum's there.
http://www.davita.com/bbs/index.php?

Davita's website is US based and has a bulliten board which offeres
similar topics, eg for carer's such as yourself..

I hope these link's help..
