Author Is Fiber to be restricted?

Hello, all.
Best I can tell, there is no FAQ for this group, so I am posing a
question that may have been already answered here.
My wife has been on dialysis since April of 2001. She has since
developed divericulosis and diverticulitis, and is currently having an
episode of the latter.
She tells me she is not supposed to eat whole grains and that there are
restrictions on the fiber she is supposed to have. I have not had a
chance to clarify this with the dietician at her dialysis center, and I
am posting here to see if someone can clarify for me whether my wife
needs to restrict fiber as she states. My wife has difficulty with the
accurate understanding and conveying of technical information, and I
want to find out what I can from this group.
Thanks
Orlando

I think I found the answer to my question. It appears that some of the
best sources of fiber are also high in potassium or phosphorus and must
therefore be restricted.
