Hi Guys.
I've experienced a few painful episodes of gout.
Other than the drugs on offer, I was wondering whether any of you know
of any alternative remedies to resolve the gout or deaden the pain of
gout.
Thanks.
Daniel.

I know Allopurinol is the one they push first, despite its problems. I
don't know of any alnernatives to medicine, but I do know an alternative
to Allpurinol is colchicine, which I've taken with no problems.

After I had my knee "scoped" this January, I immediately had a very painful
episode with gout in that knee. The Dr. gave me an injection of Celestone.
Not pills, but it sure helped in a hurry. I'm not crazy about taking extra
steroids in addition to my regular Prednisone, but the relief was worth it.

| Hi Daniel,
Consider eating at least half a handful of dried cherries every day.
Purportedly, cherries help reduce frequency and severity of gout
attacks. I don't think it helps if you are already having a gout
attack. Around here, dried cherries can be bought from bulk food stores
just like raisins.
