dialysis while traveling or cruising

| Hi,
Just found out my dad may be needing kidney dialysis in the future.
Being a cruise addict with at least two cruises a year it is not such
a nice perspective. In order to help him finding ways of not having to
stay
at home forever below my question:
Do any ships/lines provide special medical facilities such as kidney
dialysis? I already consulted
http://www.dialysisatsea.com/aboutus.html. Useful !
If he travels on land or goes for a week to some resort, can he make
appointments in advance with hospitals in that area to have dialysis ?
Since we are in Europe it may be different than across the Atlantic
but may be some readers of this news group are European. He likes
traveling to Canada and US as well.

| Is your dad planning to have hemo or peritoneal dialysis?
I have been on Pd for 3 years now and have enjoyed 4 cruises. With Pd the
boxes of fluid are delivered directly to the cabin, usually before you get
there! It is easy then to go back to your cabin whenever you need to
dialyse. As for going on shore trips, just rearrange you dialysis times to
suit.
Mum and I find that P&O are terrific about this. You do have to tell P&O
medical about your condition, but that's just so they know your on board.
Also you must tell your Pd clinic that you're going.
Good luck, you can contact other cruise companies and check with them.
