I'd like to know if anyone in the group has experienced any ankle swelling
and what methods can be taken
to help alleviate the discomfort. The swelling is not due to my kidney
function but could be a result of Norvasc.

Thank you,
Philip

I get pitting edema, mostly from kidney disease, but the venous stasis
one leg makes it much worse. I take a lot of Lasix (120 mg), keep my
legs elevated as much as possible, try not to walk too much (or too
little) and wear compression stockings when the edema causes my legs to
swell more than four additional inches.

Now if anybody can offer advice on how to keep the facial edema (mostly
in my upper eyelids) down, I'd be grateful! It doesn't really decrease
that much as the day goes on, and it's often bad enough to cause
bruising.

I never did with Norvasc or any similar drug. It's a very common side effect
of calcium channel blockers though. It's not really swelling due to fluid
retention, so there's not much you can do about it except switch to a
different drug.

Thanks for the comments. My doctor has told me to discontinue Norvasc. I
hope that was the
only reason I was getting the swelling.
As for facial edema, I had it while taking Prednisone. There was nothing
that I could do to reduce it. Since I am
not taking Prednisone anymore, my facial swelling has disappeared.

Philip

Thanks for the comments. My doctor told me to discontinue Norvasc.
Hopefully, it will now disappear.

Thanks,
Philip
