A/ O Altruistic Donor or Paired Exch. for B Needed
|
|
|
| Hello -
My husband and the father of our three young children needs a kidney
transplant. He has a genetic kidney disease, which means that other than
the kidney issue, he is in good health and a great candidate for a
transplant. We did not learn he would need a transplant until about 6
weeks ago, so we lost the usual lead time people have on the waiting list
as their kidneys decline. His sister is a potential donor, but her blood
type is B, and his is A. So if you are interested in an altruistic
donation and have type A or O blood or if you might be interested in a
paired exchange (that is, you need a B kidney, but your potential donor is
A), we would love to hear from you! Our insurance will pay the donor’s
medical costs.
Thank you!

| I am not sure what you mean. How do I do this? Thanks.

|
| Have you checked with your coordinator to see if they allow this? I just
found out that not all transplant centers allow this as it is new and they
have no process in place. See www.donationforcynthia.com for our story
and my contact info if you want to chat. thanks
