Looking to speak with anyone who has Guillain-Barre Syndrome, or where
I may be able to find someone who has experienced this. My father
developed the syndrome a week ago, and I'm trying to gain additional
insight into this bizarre disorder. I've read all of the web sites,
facts, etc., but am looking for some first hand accounts.

According to everything I've read, and according to our doctors, the
vast majority of people with GBS make a full recovery over time. The
biggest variable being time...weeks to months to possibly years. My
dad is on a respirator, cannot move anything really and looks horrible.
It's hard to think he will come out of this state, that's why I would
like to hear from those who have made full recoverys. Thanks for any
insight. -B

One of my former co-workers came down with it. Same thing - totally immobile
and on a respirator. She's currently training for some kind of fundraising
walk - 20 or thirty miles I think.
