Question about the skull/head

Okay, this will sound stupid, but I have a question and don't know who else
to ask.
I am getting knots on my head. They are sore even when I
don't touch them, and very painful when I do. My head under my hair used to
be smooth. Now its lumpy. I noticed it many months ago when I was washing
my hair and the conditioner was on, making it slick - there were a couple of
bumps here and there.
Now, I have many, of different shapes and sizes. It is exactly as if I've
been hit over the head with a blunt object (I live alone and there isn't a
chance of that). I googled for head, skull, bump, lump, tumor, etc., but
can't find a thing remotely similar.
I don't think it is cancerous tumors or I'd be dead by now. Is it serious
enough to mention to my neuro? Has anyone else ever had these? Or even
heard of them? Do they get better? They aren't like an ulcer type sore, no
break in the skin, just lumpy areas and knots.
Does anyone have ANY ideas? Thanks! Rebecca

The first call should be your GP. If you already consult a neuro ask him/her
of course but don't make a special appointment. Topical lumps/bumps (on the
outside of your skull) aren't going to be affecting your neurological
condition.
