| We have an news article on wavefront glasses at
http://www.usaeyes.org/lasik/librar...sive-Lenses.htm
Essentially the system uses a wavefront aberrometer to determine the
patient's prescription and some higher order aberrations, then uses
that information to create spectacle lenses that correct as much as
possible.
Anyone who understands wavefront knows that wavefront glasses will
have a limited improvement over conventional glasses. The slightest
misalignment between the eye and the angle of the glasses would change
the wavefront fingerprint dramatically. The people at Ophthonix
obviously know this because they appear to be limiting their wavefront
correction to only those areas that have the most success.
A post-Lasik patient who frequents this newsgroup "SimpleDog" recently
received a pair of these glasses and reported that they provided very
good vision.
Whether or not wavefront glasses are a significant improvement in
spectacle lens technology or marketing hype is still an open question,
however when someone with a mediocre Lasik outcome says they work
well, that is a very strong endorsement.
