One used mostly by people who want to get lasik, sometimes by people
who are seeking help for complications:
www.asklasikdocs.com
One used mostly by people with complications, sometimes by people who
want to get lasik:
www.lasermyeye.org/forums
One used mostly by people who would like to dangle their lasik surgeon
upside down by his toenails, remove all his skin with a microkeratome,
ablate everything from his corneas to his frontal lobe, and finally
fling him to a crowd of malpractice lawyers to finish the job:

| And ocassionally, just by accident, actual factual information about
Lasik is on this newsgroup. You have to dig through all they rhetoric,
however.

| Please, spare us. Even those of us with really lousy Lasik can see
through lasikflap.com
Eye posts, answers herself wearing one of her wardrobe full of aliases,
returns and asks herself a question clad in another, donning another
answers herself, and then pops in as eye to congratulate all herselves
on what a nice thread they've woven. Nearly every thread in those
forums is loomed by the same three or four individuals-it becomes a
veritable strut-turn-change, strut-turn-change fashion event, screaming
last year's tired must-haves up and down the walkway. Little wonder so
few are buying.

You may want to take another look at AskLasikDocs. It is a great
forum.

You nailed this one good. It's "flappie" in a nutshell.

Bob,
If you have any questions, please post them here. There are some
knowledgeable people who may be able to answer your queries. Otherwise
try sci.med.vision. If you post a question there, you will be certain
to get some good answers. Sometimes you just have to sift through the
crap.

| WHy don't you post your penis stories Brent? Are you afraid everyone
will laugh at you?

i guess 'penis' has been officially included in the refractive surgery
glossary now... more trash!

| Gracious! Those grapes don't need to taste so sour! What a sad waste that
brain and sense of humor of yours are not used to actually do something
constructive. Activists dissing other activists because they have a diferent
approach doesn't help the cause very much, nun. If you don't want to
participate in lasikflap.com, a polite no-thank you would suffice. There
are enough people on this newsgroup who stoop to bitterness and
mean-spiritedness already. Rise above. Get an alias and join the flap - your
expertise would help many. Beats the role of armchair commentator of the
"sewer".
Since you love to be in the 'hum', move yourself to the center of it. You
would be welcomed, and your readership would be huge. Have you noticed the
number of hits on flap threads lately? You read there. Apparently so does
everybody else - unprecedented in a bulletin board that's only a few months
old. If you're down on aliases these days, even though the vast majority of
posters use them, drop all of YOURS and use your real name. That wouldn't be
my recommendation, because you tend to 'let your hair down' more with an
alias.
BTW, LOVE most of your posts. Always have.

Eww. Lasikflap is starting to sound like a ministry and you're the chief
proselytizer. Ace not doing his job?

You must be scraping the barrel these days with your aliases "Allan"
cough "Eye" cough "Wendy" cough "Scientist" cough "Nell--why don't you
use your own name? Doesn't really matter, does it. A rose by any other
name still has thorns.

| You should direct that question to Eye. Only she can really answer
that question. Two malcontents in one household. Who says misery
doesn't love company?
