| I had to renew my driver's license last week. Yippee turned 52 yesterday.
But, for the first time ever, I now have no vision restrictions on my
license. I took the eye test and had the restriction removed. I think
that's a really cool lasik benefit.
However, it wasn't cut and dry. If you all remember, I had monovision done.
So, when I stuck my face in that little visor thing, the guy tells me to
read line 5. So, rattled off all 8 letters on the line. But he says to me,
you missed the left side. Try it again. Left side?? What's he talking
about?? Then I realized the visor thing works each eye independently. There
are three columns. The right can't see the far left column. My left eye is
my close up reading I eye. I'm thinking, ok, now what do I do? So I squinted
and got a few letters off. Then he told me to read the 4th line. I was just
barely able to squint enough to make out the left column on that line. He
said that was good enough.
Whew, I made it. No restrictions. That was the coolest birthday present.

| Heh... you are happy to be 52... Ace will come up with something
like "I extend my condolences for your age... I bet you wish you never
had lasik now.. you hate it even though you think you like it"

| Congrats on getting the restriction removed. Technicially you only have
to be 20/40 in one eye and I think the other can be 20/200. Squinting
is cheating but if you passed 20/40 without squinting in one eye, you
should pass anyway.
Because I dont like monovision and id much rather need glasses to drive
than to read, my restriction will be forever but thats OK

Don't worry retard, the state of Florida will never issue you a
driver's license.
