Nice little article at http://lasikflap.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=136
describes how Dr. Lindstrom will do lasik on anyone, regardless of pupil
size.

=================================
I just noticed that Richard Lindstrom is certified by CRSQA. That proves
that CRSQA will certify anybody, regardless of his disregard for patients'
best interest, and regardless of the quality of vision outcomes of his
patients. If Lindstrom says that his large pupil patients don't have NVD,
he's a liar.

Shame on Hagele/CRSQA. The FDA, ASCRS, OMIC, FTC and the AAO all have
statements regarding pre-op screening for large pupils. Yet Hagele will
certify doctors who disregard pupil size.

Although legal literature suggests large pupil size is a risk factor during
refractive surgery, medical literature does not agree.
During a panel discussion on refractive surgery complications, Richard L.
Lindstrom, M.D., adjunct professor emeritus, university of Minnesota,
Minneapolis, said he performs surgery on any pupil size.

The Council for Refractive Surgery Quality Assurance certifies surgeon
whose actual patient outcomes meet or exceed our requirements for
vision acuity, vision quality, and percentage of complications...no
matter what technique or technology the surgeon utilizes.

The issue of pupil size is hotly debated within ophthalmology. Studies
(including one published by Dr. Lindstrom) show that pupil size alone
is a poor predictor of night vision problems. For more details on
pupil size, visit:

There is no such thing as QUALITY ASSURANCE for refractive surgery. And
reposting Dr. Lindstrom's biography does nothing to protect the public
from his reckless lack of proper patient screening.

If a doctor was truly reckless, that doctor's outcomes would not be
good enough to meet our requirements for certification. The fact Dr.
Lindstrom is CRSQA certified disputes the accusation.
