Author CRSQA surgeon Robert Maloney tells Kathy Griffin 50 surgeries wouldn't matter

Why would anyone criticize Kathy Griffin for having multiple surgeries
when a CRSQA refractive surgeon is telling her something like this?
Kathy Griffin was reluctant to have additional surgeries, but
apparently the CRSQA whiz, Dr. Robert Maloney, talked her into it!
50 surgeries wouldn't matter! Would she have a flap and residual stroma
LEFT after 50 surgeries? Seems like Dr. Maloney did quite enough damage
after just a few failed attempts at correcting Kathy Griffin's vision
to leave her with permanently blurry vision in one eye.

Read about it here:

Apparently Dr. Maloney hasn't heard of ectasia or epithelial ingrowth,
both risks of retreatment. Dr. Maloney's treatments resulted in some
serious epithelial ingrowth for Kathy Griffin.

The continued inference that there was something lacking in Dr.
Maloney's care of Kathy Griffin ignores the fact that Griffin delayed
returning to Dr. Maloney (or any doctor) despite multiple pleas from
Dr. Maloney requesting her to get treatment for diagnosed progressive
epithelial ingrowth. It was not Dr. Maloney's care that caused damage
to Kathy Griffin's eyes, it was her delay in seeking care.

About two years after her initial surgery with Dr. Maloney and about a
year after Maloney first diagnosed the ingrowth and explained the
importance of treatment, Kathy Griffin finally selected Kerry Assil,
MD, a different CRSQA Certified Refractive Surgeon, to have her
epithelial ingrowth removed. Unfortunately, this was after she
suffered damage to her cornea.

The reference to ectasia indicates that the author of the preceding
post believes additional stromal tissue removal is required to resolve
epithelial ingrowth, thereby weakening the cornea. This is not true.
The only tissue that needs to be removed are the epithelial cells
under the LASIK flap. This will not affect the amount of residual
untouched cornea. Flap lift for epithelial cell removal will not
change the structural integrity of the cornea, however not removing
progressive epithelial ingrowth can cause permanent damage to the
cornea.

For the thousandth time, GRIFFIN DID THIS TO HERSELF!!!!!. By not
following her docs instructions in a timely manner, she is at fault.

This is a must read on eye health and maintainance. You may or may not be
affected , but you might be shocked!
Please excuse the interruption , but I thought you may be interested to know
what may be causing all kinds of health problems for yourself or for your
loved ones. I can't seem to get it through to my wife's brain about this
vital health issue, Now she is always saying she is having trouble with her
vision. Gee, I wonder why? I am so pissed off right now, I really want to
slap some sense into her. She has been feeding this poison to my four
children for years after I asked her not too, so you can see why I said what
I said previously, but I would never hit my wife. Why are people ignore what
science brings to are attention about health issues. I am really upset, but
I hope this helps you....since I can't get through to my wife of 16
years.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
