Many thanks for an excellent reply Glenn, very useful info.

BTW, I'm in the UK and the lenses in question are the 'Artisan phakic' type.
I'm 45, so perhaps shouild be looking at RLE, but as this is irreversible,
am not sure if it'd be more worthwhile than LASIK.
