This is an article by retired LASIK surgeon Dr. Lee Nordan. Why would a guy
who knows as
much about LASIK say something so negative about the procedure? He has no
incentive to
lie. He's an Ophthalmologist, a real doctor. Read what he has to say!

Excerpt:

"He again posed the question that I and many others have been asking for 15
years: Why are we still measuring the results of refractive surgery with a
Snellen chart and then resorting to descriptive phrases such as "patients
are happy"? Happy usually means that the patient's visual function is poorer
than desired, but he isn't complaining . today."

This is a very subjective statement. Of course one can take it two
ways. Same can be said for any type of surgery.
Let's recap, if a doc says something that can be taken as negative,
he's a "real" doc.If he says something that can be taken as positive,
he's a quack.

Yep, spoken like the real expert that you are. Do you even know Lee?
Ever meet him and talk to him? He's one of the top 5 experts on RS in
the world. The world. Not your little flat world. The big round one
with all the countries.

And what are you? Some poster on a backwater board who performs
parallel masturbation with Ragnar. Your opinion is meaningless, like
your life. To call you a shithead would be insulting shit.

Frank,

I do know Dr. Nordan, who before he retired could arguably be
considered one of the top five experts in the world. He has been a
very vocal advocate of paying attention to LASIK's limitations. He
also was a LASIK surgeon. To suggest by any of Dr. Nordan's statements
taken out of context that he is anti-LASIK or anti refractive surgery
is grossly inaccurate. What he is, is pro-good outcome and he has been
very good at reminding the industry not to over-promise and
under-deliver.
