| I mentioned about a week ago about how meaningless Alexa was, and that
I knew the tricks of getting a real top ranking on Google. I didn't
invent these tricks - I got dragged to an internet seminar and within
the 4 hours worth of blabber - the speaker gave away some secrets
which I'm sure almost nobody picked up on.
Anyway, I was shocked when I did a Google search today. I have a
website of my own (it has nothing to do with eye care). I seached on
a one word generic term and MY website came up as the FIRST link in
Google! Which is the rank that MATTERS.
Funny thing is.. my ALEXA rankings are terrible! Good thing that
Alexa rankings don't mean squat. Hits mean almost nothing to
Google rankings. They may have at some time in the past, but seach
engines have gotten more "intuitivie" and intelligent in determining
the true interest in a site vs. blind hits.
I'm surprised that Hanson admitted that Alexa is nonsense and that he
used to pump up his Alexa ratings.
