| I haven't met anyone yet who couldn't feel (very unpleasantly) their
plugs when looking far to one side or the other. They are scratchy,
they fall out and you must pay to have them replaced, they can cause
infections, tears roll down your face when you eat...with Glenn's
reasoning, they also must be a "lasik eraser". Just like you never had
surgery. Right.

| Absolutely false, I have 'em, no tears roll anywhere, no infections, no
problems at all.

| SErebel, you are really messed up by LASIK! First you tell us that your
vision goes bad for several hours if you sleep the wrong way on your pillow,
and NOW you admit that your eyes are so dry from LASIK that you are stuck
with little pieces of silicone plugs in your tear ducts for life just to
retain some moisture.
Yes, you're a POSTER BOY for LASIK all right! Your corneas are thin and weak
and give you unreliable vision and you have dry eye requiring you to wear
punctal plugs for the rest of your life. Those are some really unhealthy
eyes you have, thanks to LASIK.

| Of course, I said no such thing, however it is true that some people
may consider punctal plugs as an appropriate trade-off for reliance on
corrective lenses. It is up to the individual to decide if this is
appropriate, not me or anyone else.

Hold the hysteria there Debbie Cakes.
1) My vision doesn't go bad, it's just not quite as sharp after a night
of an eye mashed into a pillow. Lasts for a couple of hours. It also
happened before lasik, just wasn't as noticeable.
2) The plugs were inserted a couple of days after surgery and can be
removed at any time now since my eyes ARE NOT DRY FOR LIFE. (note:
since the lower puncta drain into the sinuses, I haven't had a cold in
years, since the plugs are in.)
My corneas are as healthy as before, just because you don't have a clue
does not make this fact go your way.

| you sure your plugs are still in?
I wouldn't be surprised if they came out without your realizing it.

Yup, they're still in.

| instead of plugs, the ducts can be surgically closed very easily. But
that should never be done unless it has been determined that someones
eyes are permanently drier than normal.
