Glenn Hagele! Wrong again! And you know it! However, I'm completely
truthful and I cite literature - here is a research study in a good journal
finding a 100% rate of flap wrinkles in LASIK patients:

Ophthalmology. 2005 Apr;112(4):634-44.
Ex vivo confocal microscopy of human LASIK corneas with histologic and
ultrastructural correlation.
Dawson DG, Holley GP, Geroski DH, Waring GO 3rd, Grossniklaus HE, Edelhauser
HF.
Department of Ophthalmology, Emory university School of Medicine, Atlanta,
Georgia, USA.

Excerpt from the full text:

"100% rate of Bowman's microfolds".

Bowman's microfolds are FLAP WRINKLES, Glenn. So this means there is a 100%
rate of FLAP WRINKLES after LASIK. How severe they will be is anybody's
guess. Some people may not be bothered much, some may be visually impaired.

There is a reason why higher order aberrations increase after both standard
and wavefront LASIK, Glenn. It's because irregular astigmatism, distortions
that cannot be corected by glasses, are introduced into the cornea by the
procedure. Flap wrinkles are corneal distortions.

There were millions of happy smokers decades ago. I have personally known
some wonderful people who died of lung cancer. One friend is currently dying
of lung cancer although he quit smoking years ago. Decades of damage before
better information became public has taken a toll on people's health. Same
situation with LASIK. The dry eye epidemic predicted by Dr. Mason is already
here.

There may be people who feel satisfied with their LASIK procedure but if
they really knew what had been done to their eyes MOST PEOPLE WOULD BE
FURIOUS.

Glenn, most people do not acquire debris in their corneas throughout life.
But many patients do have metal debris under their flaps from the
microkeratome blade, plastic particles and other sorts of junk.
LASIK patients have debris in their corneas because some idiot cut a LASIK
flap (bad idea) and junk just tends to get lodged in people's eyes
permanently.

NOBODY WANTS THIS GLENN. Having a discussion about junk stuck under a
patient's LASIK flap for life like it's perfectly normal and OK is rather
disturbing. I can't believe you went there.
Many patients do not have a positive lifestyle effect after LASIK. Many
people who are OK now will have problems down the road. The fact that a
doctor killed himself recently after a bad LASIK outcome and an
Ophthalmologist is suing a LASER manufacturer because of a bad LASIK outcome
are telling.

ABSOLUTELY TOTALLY WRONG GLENN, SEE ABOVE!!!

and that LASIK is "bad

FIND US A STUDY THAT SHOWS LASIK PATIENTS DO NOT
GET FLAP WRINKLES!

NOT TRUE, ALL LASIK EYES HAVE SUSTAINED PERMANENT DAMAGE.

In fact, in survey after survey these people who you

LIKE CIGARETTE SMOKING, THE DAMAGE FROM LASIK IS A REAL PRESENT
AND FUTURE HEALTH RISK.
