I read a lot of posts here regarding epilasik some are accurate but
some are deceiving. If anyone has any particular interests in this
procedure please repost or email me directly.

If you had an Epilasik experience please post your pros and cons and if
you know which equipment was used. There are currently only 2 FDA
approved devices on the market (possible 3 but was not confirmed)

I can share with you all the experience I have and also some medical
results that i am priveleadged to.

Don't keep us in suspense, let us know your experience. I attended
several symposia and courses regarding Epi-LASIK. I'm glad to respond
to any questions or concerns, however I'm much more interested in the
experiences of a patient.

For those who don't know, Epi-LASIK is a refinement of LASEK and the
latest attempt to save the epithelium during refractive surgery, but
not create a thicker flap of corneal tissue. This technique uses a
mechanical microkeratome with a blunt, rather than sharp, blade that
slides across the front of the cornea. This blunt blade scrapes up a
sheet of epithelium at the surface of the stronger Bowman's layer.
This is essentially an epithelial flap.

The epithelial flap is moved out of the way similar to LASIK, the
laser treats the exposed area, and then the epithelial flap is
repositioned. Early reports indicate that there is improvement in
recovery time, comfort, and even the probability of haze, but most
agree that it is much too early to know if Epi-LASIK is really ready
for prime time.
