OT- Central Serous Retinopathy

| Hello. I know this is off topic for this group, but maybe somebody here
has some knowledge on this subject. I ended up with this problem last
year, and I guess I'll have it the rest of my life. I have the
literature that the doctor's have given me, but it seems to be a very
rare situation. He has all of his interns to 'have a look' on my monthly
visits. Does/has anybody here deal with or know anybody that has this
eye problem? TIA, Dan

| I hate to always "cop out" and send patients on a Google search, but I
have had quite a few CSR patients that found that "Googling" the term
Central Serous Retinopathy opened a new world of info for them.
The bottom line: CSR occurs when a clear fluid, believed to be a
hyper-filtrate of blood, leaks under the macula and causes a central
scotoma or vision loss. CSR has a stress component, so it is an irony
that the more you "worry" about CSR the less likely it will go away.
There is a "target" patient for CSR, usually a male in his 20s or 30s
with a stressful job. There are some good articles about CSR out
there. Good luck in your search!

| Young adult males are the biggest group and while most regain good
vision it does take a while to fully resolve.
I'd be using syntonics to dry the macula and speed recovery.
Good luck,
