Author What a colleague told me about his Lasik experience

He said his iris muscles did not appear to be as responsive as they used to
be. They take a long time to dilate the pupil in poor light, so his night
vision isn't so good. Same thing happens in very bright light, in that they
take a long time respond to reduce pupil size, so the vision gets
overexposed. Any idea what causes this?

Pupil response is not normally changed by LASIK. I highly recommend
your friend be fully evaluated by an ophthalmologist to determine if
there is a different unrelated problem.

Poor vision at night does relate to pupil size, but not because the
pupil moves too slow. See
