Dr. Trattler! NO correlation between pupil size and glare haze and halo
at 6 months? Perhaps not if you define LARGE pupils at 2.9 mm. Why are
you not ashamed to publish this? And then you are reposting it as if
you were a conscientious pupil size advocate?

Shame on you, Dr. Trattler!

The Schallhorn paper you include in your article is currently featured
in the 'Junk Science' section on the Lasikflap.com/forum website - a
nice debunking of the manuscript is provided by Bill.

Here is an excerpt:

Pupil size and quality of vision after LASIK.
Ophthalmology. 2003 Aug;110 8:1606-14.
Schallhorn SC, Kaupp SE, Tanzer DJ, Tidwell J, Laurent J, Bourque LB.

"Dr. Steven Schallhorn's study is a complete sham. When questioned
during deposition about his one and only 8 mm pupil patient in his
study, he said he did not know if that patient dropped out of the
study. And he only had one patient with a 7.5 mm pupil. The 7.5 mm
patient was experiencing visual disturbances at night."

Dr. Trattler writes that he's using wavefront-guided ablations to
determine if he can REDUCE THE SIZE OF STARBURSTS in large pupil
patients! What a hero! Why is he inducing starbursts at ALL?

Hint: Dr. Trattler is NOT meeting the WAVEFRONT CHALLENGE! He is
inducing distortions that cannot be corrected with glasses in patient's
corneas with his surgeries.

Dr. Trattler is not alone. All corneal refractive surgeons are inducing
distortions in patients corneas that cannot be corrected with glasses!
