This is a disingenuous statement. (For those who don't understand legal
euphamisms, that means a grossly misleading or outrageously false
statement. For those who don't understand that either, let's just call
it BS.)
Read any even vaguely competent source on what the requirements are for
exemption under 501(c)(3) and it is immediately obvious that your
declared activities and funding sources exclude you from any
possibility of attaining 501(c)(3) status for however long those remain
your activities and funding sources.

You really ought to hire a tax lawyer, or at least buy a Nolo book or
two. You have it backwards. You need to demonstrate that your funding
comes from donations before you can achieve 501(c)(3) status. Nothing
about 501(c)(3) has any bearing on your ability to solicit donations,
only on donors' ability to claim a tax deduction.

Quite. Knowing that the IRS can and will NEVER grant the 501(c)(3)
until or unless you fundamentally change the structure, activities and
funding sources of your organization, you could not inaccurately
describe such a change as "pending" from now till the earth freezes
over.
