I don't know anyone who has driven home after surgery--the next day,
yes, but not the day of. Your doctor will tape plastic goggles over
your eyes and you really can't see clearly out of them. And you may not
be seeing perfectly yet anyway, even without the goggles. Also, if you
are planning to take any relaxants/pain meds, like valium or demerol,
you won't be able to drive.
