Well, had my second exam last night. Seemed to go well. Here are the
numbers I promised. And yes I misremembered the DAPD.
DAPD: 5mm.
Corneal thickness: 515 microns
(the rest of these come from the pre-op assesment from I'm supposed to
bring, so I don't necessarily understand all of these)
VAsc OD:20/400 VAcc OD:20/20
OS:20/400 OS:20/20
Keratometry OD:42.93/42.39@105
OS:43.21/42.82@72
Manifest OD:-5.00 Cycloplegic OD:-4.75
OS:-4.50 OS:-4.25
(The Cycloplegic is the same as when I was first fitted for contacts back
in '94. I stopped wearing them about 2 years ago due to a light
sensetivity problem after an infection (Yes I informed the optometrist
about it and included it on the written information.).)
There is more, but I'm not that good at deciphering the handwriting.

| Can you please describe what was used to measure your pupils, under
what lighting conditions, and what instructions you were given prior to
measurement?
If you could mention your age, that would also be helpful.
5mm sounds so far from normal, and that measurement is such a critical
part of laser eye surgery risk evaluation, that you would be doing
yourself a disservice not to pay very careful attention to these
details.

It was about 2 months ago when they did it, I'm not 100% certain, but
about halfway through the exam, he turned out the light in the exam room,
said he would be back to get some measurements in a few minutes and left
the room and closed the door. He came back in about 10-15 minutes, closed
the door behind him, talked to me for a minute or two and then checked my
eyes with 2 or 3 different instruments. I'm not sure which one was used
to check the pupil diamater, but I know one of them was for the corneal
topography. One of them had a dim concentric rings of a blue/green light.
I think that was the one used for the topography. Another one had no
light on my end of it. The lighting conditions are about what I am used to
for glaucoma tests when I get my eyes examined normally. There was a
computer monitor that was in the corner that was pointed away from me that
gave enough light I could see the walls, and counters, but that was
probably about it.
