The patient had a prescription of -10.50 in the astigmatic meridian, not
-9.50. This patient also had a pupil of 6.5 mm in a lighted environment,
not dark-adapted. Doing LASIK on this patient would be a serious breach of
medical ethics. PRK should not be performed on anybody over -7.00 because
of the risk of corneal hazing. Several studies have confirmed the superior
outcomes of LASIK over PRK in high myopia. Not every surgeon agrees with
using mitomycin C to prevent hazing.

I consider that Ragnar is probably a self-proclaimed spokesperson for the
refractive surgery industry. As such he does it a great disservice.

And anybody familiar with this newsgroup knows about your self-serving
operation.
Dr. Gemoules and Ron Link are unusual in that nobody finds either of
them to be credible. Even the malcontents don't have much use for
you. Even your prized patient Paula Knapp who has praised you
extensively also admits that you haven't successfully treated her
condition. Frankly, nothing is going to ever satisfy her, but that is
another issue.

Just who is Paula Knapp? Have you been drinking again? Alcohol and
computers don't mix, Ragnar.

A malcontent is somebody who cannot be satisfied. For example, you are a
malcontent. You should never have had refractive surgery.

I find DrG to be quite credible, have relied on his expert opinion,
and have sent patients to him for care, which was provided in a
professional manner.

One may not agree with a person's "politics", but that does not mean
that all they say is wrong. Even Hanson on rare occasions says
something relevant, meaningful, and truthful...although I can't at the
moment think of when that last occurred.

The problem in this group, Glenn, is that it is not possible to stay
apolitical, as I have discovered. Neither the science of, nor the
delivery of good eye care should have anything to do with politics.

Ragnar is about as offensive a human being as I have ever encountered,
and the fact that you tolerate him or make excuses for him doesn't really
become you.

Well, DrG. One can tolerate and make excuses for hemroids too, but
that does not mean that one appreciates them or really wants them
around.

High fives on that.
