Author Postings Not Authored By Glenn Hagele

For reasons that are only known to the perpetrator, someone has made
many postings in this newsgroup with headings, return addresses, or
subject lines as if they may have been authored by me.

Rather than wasting my time attempting to post a follow-up notice to
each and every counterfeit posting, I am simply going to make this
single statement of caution.

I suggest that viewers consider the content of any posting purported
or surmised to be from me and use logic and reason to determine if it
may be genuine or counterfeit.

It may be valuable to use your newsgroup reader "kill file" to
eliminate all postings that are obvious counterfeit.

If you believe it appropriate, send an abuse notice to Google at:
http://groups-beta.google.com/group...b37b2f31dbe80d3

Or directly to the portal from which the postings are generated at:

http://www.usenetabuse.com

Perhaps if enough individuals report this abuse of the newsgroup,
action will be taken against the perpetratorby Google, the
perpetrator's Internet service provider, and/or others.

Good grief, Glenn. I haven't even WRITTEN a subject line, much less one
that looked "as if it may have been authored" by you. Incidentally,
what DOES it mean for a heading or subject line to look as though it
were authored by you? And are you saying that no one should ever post
the kinds of things you do?

As to return addresses, gee, if mine was glenn@usbeyes.org, or
glenn@usaeyeballs.org or something, I could see that you have a point,
but for heavens sake, it's just a Yahoo address.

Gee. Each and every counterfeit posting? I haven't counterfeited
anything (I even explictly stated that I am not Glenn Hagele) and I
have posted a grand total of three times. Why so anxious?

No post of mine will ever be "purported" to be from you. Anything I
post is from me, and says so. Why are you confused about it?

That's a really good idea. I think everyone should go complain to
Google that someone is exercising their free speech rights in a Google
Group. I am sure all the appropriate authorities will be genuinely
shocked and will take immediate action to prevent this from happening.
