I'm not a big fan of the idea of monovision and would be reluctant to
recommend it to anyone. I might suggest it as an option but I
wouldn't encourage it.
However, people seem to love their monovision. I guess it's a
tradeoff between not being able to see something clearly or having to
put up with the pros and cons of monovision.

I personally use monovision correction and find the trade-off to be
acceptable. I do sometimes miss my excellent spectacle corrected
distance vision, but I also like to see the menu at my favorite
restaurant. It did take me nearly six months and several contact
lenses of different powers to find exactly what I like.

Yes, but aren't the menus at McDonalds easy to read?

Does McDonalds have a dollar menu? I thought that was just Wendys.
Now here's a mystery.. Why does a Wendy's 1/4 lb Single cost so much
more than a Wendy's 1/4 lb double stack?

We can thank the mythical Dr. Leukoma for starting the hamburger
