Proper Zyoptix examination procedure?
|
|
|
| Hello,
I had my Zyoptix preliminary examinations few days ago. There were two
main devices used in the examination.
In the first device there were "hypnotic" concentric rings and I was
told to stare straight to the red point in the middle of them. Then
there were some flashes and procedure was ower for that eye and repeated
for the other eye.
In the other device there was a "mountain landscape" and a red spot in
the middle of it. The operator told me to fix my glance _over_ the
landscape, in the dark area above it. This was very strange. Why is
there ladscape which draws attention if one is not expected to stare
straight to it? It even came to mind that the operator might have wrong
idea how to guide patient. Could this have some effect on treatment
parameters? If this second device is the "wavefront aberrometer",
shouldn't the patient fix his glare in the middle so that the most
important area of eyes optical system would be examined?

| The landscape device was an autorefractor...designed to get a ballpark
figure for your corrective need.
