I see things are quiet here.

If any of you use newsreaders to access the newsgroup, you can "plonk"
certain posters.
Make their posts or threads disappear. (and the others not reply to them,
especially the crossposted ones)

How to "plonk" using Outlook Express.
Select the post (ironjustice is a good one to plonk), then Click on
'message' between 'tools and help' at the top of OE...
then click on block sender..
Thunderbird.
click on the offending post, go to "message" then to "create rule from
message"
Set on "match any of the following", then it has one rule already set.
Once you are viewing a message in the thread you want to killfile, select
the Message menu and look at the bottom options[Kill Thread] [Ignore
Thread]
and [Watch
Thread]-- note the K and I and W shortcuts. You have to be viewing the
message for this to work.
(I assume CTRL-K killfiles) I assume, but not sure that selecting a
poster/post, then the shortcut kf's them.

If you are reading messages here, using Netscape, Outlook, Outlook
Express, Thunderbird, Forte Agent (and many others), there's a way, in
each newsreader, to make a specific poster's posts disappear (delete) or
"mark as read".

With Outlook Express and possibly Outlook, select the post, click on
'message' between 'tools' and 'help' at the top of OE. then click on
"block sender"
Using Forte Agent, select the person's post, then: 'Ctrl & K' followed by
'I'
Netscape/Thunderbird, select the person's post, then try Edit (on the
menu) and look for "Message Filters".
The person's posts may not disappear immediately, only when you exit the
newsgroup
and come back in.
From thereon, each new post (by that poster) should be deleted by the
newsreader.

If you don't have a newsreader get one please and use it.
Many computers already have Outlook installed. If yuu don't, other
newsreaders are available, some for free. (see below)

Newserver:

carry newsgroups)

How to make whole threads (conversations) disappear using Outlook Express
http://groups-beta.google.com/group...996db7f4317864a

First you set up a rule, from there on it's a one-step process.

If you don't use Outllok Express, instructions for other newsreaders;
You can make crossposted threads (exchanges) disappear, by following the
instructions, for your newsreader, here.
<http://www.hyphenologist.co.uk/kill...lfilefaqhtm.htm>

How you all doing? Keep on posting.
Don't let trolls and crossposters take over this newsgroup.
It's too valuable a newsgroup, for many.
Hugs to all.

Hello janers; waving hi to you and everyone else here.
I still lurk.
Being summer, I have much to do, which bothers my shoulders and elbows.
Heat emanates from my elbows and pain is always a problem.
Of course, sanding rust on the car and lawn mowing doesn't help. :p

They promised me a steroid injection after the MRI (next week) for my
shoulder..
I wish they'd done the bursectomy instead to both elbows. The medical wheels
move slow in Canada.
\so I go to sleep with my elbows wrapped in cold wet towels to help with the
inflammation and pain, but/and when the pain anywhere gets really, really bad, I
use half tab of oxycocet for a few days.

I think my doctor's an idiot. I went to him in Spring and told him I have pain
peeing.
He checked and said infection (WBC's and blood in urine) and lab confirmed it.
He gave me samples of antibiotic for 6 days. Problems continued.
I went back and he rechecked and still blood and wbc's. So a different type of
AB for 5 days.
Problems continued. He rechecked and would not let me see the lab report - said
he didn't have time but "normal flora" and wouldn't write me a prescription for
AB. The problems continued. So this past week, I decided to take an antibiotic I
had left over from year 2003, but 2 twice daily (in case they'd lost some
strength, being old) and so far no more pain...

I had "won" on a challenge that he created about not wanting to adjust my
thyroid med, so I think his ego was out of joint and he didn't want to help me
with the UTI. We'll see if it continues, after I stop this AB (or not). I don't
know what else could be causing the pain. Tha'ts my story. My fluff baby (cat)
is not doing so well, losing weight. Vet thinks she has cancer. She's 14. I
spend as much time as I can with her. The days are getting longer and the
nights cooler; apologies to those who like cold. I hate the thought of winter.

Now how's about you. Surgery coming soon on your foot?
Hugs

So sorry about your kitty!=20
I have 2 as you know and dread 'that time of their lives' that you are =
referring to with your!
I am so sorry she is having troubles and that your joints are too!=20
I too usually have a bad time in the summer and this year is =
particularly bad because of no antimalarials being allowed, final word =
is 'Nope' ..... so am taking my breakthrough MS pills which work and my =
decadron, a powerhouse steroid which I take on top of my pred when =
things are just 'too much' for me to handle... and this week has been =
one of those kinds: waking in the night with joint pain and then having =
it through out the days and even napping!
..... thank god the days are shortening and cooling!!=20
I love the winter <and late fall and early spring seasons>=20
the summer I can do without <except for my outings in the boat for =
prawns and fish of course!>
.... everything else revolves around my addiction to annual TV show 'Big =
Brother' (this summer is all stars) and the online voyeuristic cameras =
into their house in LA that I watch avidly so I can know the strategies =
ahead of the tv show 3 times a week LOL.. yes, I am hooked, line and =
sinker for 7 years now lol!
But it is only during the summer and finishes early in September and I =
can't go out into the sun anyhow so why not have something that keeps me =
inside!?
Hmmm......mowing lawns? .....sanding rust off a car?
.... not my thing.
My MOTH does those things for the most part; I will mow a lawn if I am =
up to it, in the evening but other than that? he does the 'man things' =
and I do the 'woman things'...... we are very 'old fashioned' but it =
works for us after almost 35 years of knowing each other...=20
What on earth has gotten into your doctor?... that is inhumane of him =
allowing you to deal with a UTI on your own! promise me you will have a =
'word' with him once you are better??!.... too bad men don't get them =
more often. JMO, but, I think then they would hop to it with treating =
them much more quickly!!
My hugs to you (((J)))
... and hopes your joints improve and that your fluff baby does too!!
