| I know that summer sends many of us in different directions. So before
everyone leaves ... ... ... how about a quick update?
We are in compliance with the city as of Friday morning. We still have the
final coat of paint to put on the porch but primer was enough to satisfy the
city.
I worked in the garden today and got many of my perennials and annuals
planted. I actually got some sun on my face and it looks a wee bit tanned.
That looks so odd for me. I did have my big western hat on but it still got
some sun somehow.
With the pressure from the city off of us it will take a little while for me
to catch up on every thing else that needs doing but at least the stress is
gone. My body still aches and I think time will fix that problem. The
neuralgia is still a factor and has not totally let up. I know without a
doubt that it is tied to a lymphnode in my neck. I wonder if they can just
remove a lymphnode. Would it cure the problem?
We are headed into hazy, hot and humid. Tonight (right now) it is 69F (about
20C) degrees and 71% humidity. Spring weather in gone!

Present!
I hope I go SOMEWHERE this summer. I'm still alive. The human
experiment seems to be going well right now. I still don't know what
I'm going to do, but there's a job at the local newspaper, and I'm
going to apply for it. I think I'll be the only candidate with a
master's degree so maybe I'll get the job. (HA!) My SSD and SSI are
fine, they've cleared me for the technical stuff we're just waiting for
the medical stuff. And I've finally tested positive for Lupus, dsDNA.
Wish me luck! Otherwise I'll be moving in with my Mom and Grandpa.
Then you'll be coming to my funeral.
Happy Summer everybody. Remember your sunscreen!
Oh and I bought some roller skates, some roller derby roller skates!
Nobody will let me skate though.

| Hi Bev, I'm still here reading mostly, I am not too bad, just got new to me
Painkillers (Tramadol). They seem to be keeping the pain at a better level,
they just make me sooooo sleepy all the time. I just got a new laptop so
that is making life easier, its a great improvement on sitting on our
horrible computer chair. LOL

Bev,
They remove lymphnodes for various reasons, wouldn't hurt to ask about
it.
I am here! :D
I am busy getting things packed and such. I'm only taking sentimental
things with me to TN for the most part. Although, he does want me to
bring my vacuum cleaner cause it's just like his and he will use it for
parts! Just like a man! Why can't we use HIS for parts?! Just
kiddin men, mines broke.
I am dreadin' the move with a passion. I want to be there already,
it's just the move that has me scared. Those last few days of nonstop
running and then going straight into the drive for 8+ hours..oh me! Oh
and with 2 dogs....
I'm losing weight though and that's helping with everything. I've lost
26 of the 40 pounds I gained when I quit smoking just over a year ago.
We won't discuss the pounds that were already there before that. :P

I did hire a cleaning girl and it has been a 'life saver' for me for =
sure! I am lucky to be retired with a man of 34 years marriage that is =
all there for me.. and I know it! I'd say that says it all as we are =
living where we want to be as first choice during our 'golden years now' =
and all is very well! =20
of course it is taken on a day to day basis but today? it is a good day!
My hugs to you all in this ng of ours... it too has been a huge help =
through the past several years with crises ongoing of their own volition =
..... nice to see others having the same problems and then finding out =
how they worked things out ... so let's just all keep talking and =
sharing our life stories as we live with our illnesses.... my 2 cents =
worth fwiw!

man...and it has been fantastic to have him step up and take care of the
things that I can no longer do. I don't have to feel guilty about him going
to the grocery store, or cleaning, or cooking, after he has worked all day
because he knows I held a full time job, kept the house spotless, meals
cooked and raised our child, etc etc etc....when I was no longer able to
work I still managed to keep everything else done, but has gotten to the
point that I just can't ...so he pitches in. My son's girlfriend does what
she can when she is here on weekends so she keeps the back half of the house
in order.
One day at a time is the way I have learned to live and I still think that
is all anyone can do.

| Well I am jumping right in here too. OK, not jumping. I have been married
also to a "wonderful man" for 38 yrs and he still is a gem for me. Since
having this boot brace on he is always willing to do things, he knows I
can't get to or actually unable to. He has always been my rock and will
always be.
I am doing ok, with my finger healing well and only 1 more week with that
splint then only at bedtime. doc informed me I would have a curve. GEE
didn't he NOTICE I got a lot of them LOL. Naw on my finger folks haha. My
curves are my rolls on my belly up over my jeans or pants..hehehe but hey I
got them. YEARS ago curves and big b..bs were the thing. NOW you are
suppose to look like you are going to die any minute of starvation, so I
guess I will keep MY curves how about you guys.
My rheumy will see me and I am holding on higher doses of medrol and will
see how that goes even with this inflammation in my leg and foot. who
knows.
We are not doing much traveling but hope to see our dear friend soon in SC
or Tenn, not sure which in Aug and July.
other than that. Grand kids are good and so are the grown kids. All is
well in janersville for now. NOW to keep it that way

| Well Mike and I have been married 31 years and we take care of each
other....with his problems and mine...we do what we can when we can...LOL..
It is already HOT here this year...May was in the 90s most of the month and
June is starting out that way too...my electric bills are already sky
high...
We have been going on some Bike Rides(motorcycle) and that is fun...It
hurts, but Heck I hurt anyways...We have found a group that is about our
age...A far cry from the Hell's Angels, but alot of fun....No drinking or
drugs on our rides...LOL...just eating...
Also we are playing more golf...when I feel like it...sometimes I play 9
holes or 10...or 18...however many this poor body will...
Have a new grandbaby due in July..another Boy...Can't wait till he gets
here...
Other than that...
Not much going on but gardening and being lazy..
Everyone have a great summer..

| Oh Cindy, that sounds like fun. I think we too often forget to have fun.
Our electric bills in the summer for AC are better than our heating bills in
the winter! I promise our summers sizzle!
Oh, another new grandbaby! They are so precious. I want pictures when he
gets here!

| I'm still doing it. Well, I'm not always doing it well but I keep plugging
away at it. Everything is far from spotless. But as long as I can do it I
guess I will. My husband has no idea how to use the appliances in this
house.

| Pain management is so tricky. Are you supposed to get used to them and then
they won't make you so sleepy?

Near Dyersburg in Newbern, where the tornadoes killed nearly 20 people
a couple of months ago. It just missed my fiance...talk about feeling
blessed!

Listen to all you happily married ladies with wonderful husbands and
children! Jeez it makes me feel like I'm missing ALOT! It's no fair!
My cats aren't even nice to me! I'm not likely to ever have a husband
or children seeing as I'm already stricken with Lupus and APA, (I'm not
sure if I'm sad or glad about that), but I can't even get my Mom to
help me out around the house! Not even for money! Yesterday I took a
head-first plunge out a plate glass window! And today I dropped a door
on my big toe! Maybe I should go roller skating and put myself out of
my misery! {sob} ;-)

| Apparently sleepy is on e of the side effects, I don't care so long as they
keep the pain at bay, and they seem to be doing that for now. I love my
laptop, why didn't I get one years ago, it would have probably saved me a
lot of shoulder pain!!

full time job over an hours drive each way. He cooks, cleans and does my
garden for me, hes also my computer geek so he keeps me online too!! LOL

| Knock that kinda talk off! Even if you are only kidding!!! You don't need
those kinds of thoughts popping up in your brain.
Things seem so much differnt these days than they did back in the yrs that
those of us who are happily married with wonderful husbands and grown
children......believe me everyone has had their bumpy rides in their
"marriage" or long term relationships....but know that their is a soul mate
out there for everyone (I truly believe that) Some of us find them when we
are young and stay together forever, some take one or more trial runs, some
find them in later yrs and haven't had any trial runs. But they are out
there!!!!!
Find a kid that is out of school for the summer and pay them to help you and
to do the things you can't do! It will be money well spent and will lessen
the stress you feel because it is not done and you can't do it. If I had
the extra money I would hire someone to help instead of placing all the load
on my husband. But I don't feel guilty because I used to do it all and
raised a child that I home schooled and worked a full time job....so I
figure it is no different for him working all day and having the other stuff
to do <g>

| Hi all,
long time no post... I haven't read posts in a LONG time. I'm even
poor at 'lurking'. Saw Bev's Roll Call and I thought I'd chime in.
Summer is here with a vengeance. East Tx heat,..... Wheeew, enough
already. What I wouldn't give for a chance to lay in some nice cool
grass in the shade and not have to worry about chiggers, fire ants,
snakes, cow ants, or one of the other host of critters that crawl on
anything that's minding it's own business.
Health is ok. Up to 15 mgs Methotrexate and 5 mgs pred for some months
now. Lexapro up to 40 mgs. last lab work was good except for the sed
rate and CRP. Both were high. Some other stuff was out of kilter, but
liver and kidneys are good. I just changed jobs. I still work in an
adult probation dept., but now work with misdemeanor transfer outs
instead of felony. More turnover and have to go to court once a week,
but half the caseload. I'm hoping the lower stress will help reduce
the inflammation and brain lag plaging me. Our dept just went through
mold remediation. Whole month of May. Tests showed no bad mold, just
nuisance stuff. Dr asked me to give report to my allergist.
Husband left teaching high school building trades after only one year.
He's back into adult probation. He taught 20 years ago and said it
just aint what it used to be. We think because of his background, he
got a good portion of the kids that would get kicked out of other
elective classes. Anyway, it's nice to see him happy again.
19 yr old son asked his girlfriend to marry him. Planning a July 07
wedding. We have truly been blessed by this young lady, Cyndie.
16 yr old son got drivers license in November 05. Look out if you're
coming to Livingston. ha ha.
Father just had battery of testing done to see if he is an acceptable
candidate for a liver transplant. Hasn't gotten final word but things
are looking good. Since Dec he has lost over 100 lbs. low carbs and
exercise. My mom has even lost a few lbs.
Bev, I hope your lymphnode/neck problem are resolved soon.
I haven't done to much in my flower gardens. Our black lab likes to
dig and I just have stopped fighting her. I do have tomatoes, peppers
and cucumbers doing really well. I planted two different types of
sunflowers. One is Moulin Rouge, a dark red and the other is called
Vanilla Ice, is supposed to be a pale yellow. Both are smaller in
heigh and size then the regular sunflowers usually thought of.
Oh, and happy Father's Day to all you fathers out there.

Was good to se your post. Sounds like things have just been happening in so
many different areas of your life. Great thing that most of them have been
"good".
My black lab loved to dig in under my tomato plants and take a nap. I never
could break her if it. She would also pick and eat the tomatoes as well as
the cucumbers and other veggies that I grow. I was always amazed that my
tomato plants survived and were always bountiful. She always got more of
the other veggies than the rest of us.
Congradulations on the future daughter in law. Since you have already been
through the drivers lic with at least one son...you know all about the joys
<g> of them reaching that age and stage. (Maybe they will up the age and
they can't start the process until they are 18 make that 20)
40 yrs ago when my dad retired from the military he thought about teaching
high school or at the Jr College. I told him that he sure wouldn't want
high school students. (I was one and knew that he wouldn't be able to
tolerate a room full of teenagers after commanding troops etc. As most
teens (besides his kids and some others) did not snap to like a soldier
would. So I can just imagine what it would be like for a man after 20 yrs
with the Probation Dept. Great that he is back with the probation dept and
happy again. Also good that you could go to the misdemeanors and take some
stress off of you at work.

| Just an update, I am enjoying spring as I do not tolerate summer well. Fall
is my favorite time of year.
I just came back from Calgary where I was visiting my daughter who just
turned 19. She is working and going to university to become a
physiotherapist. Maybe she will be able to help me when she graduates.
I am taking 25 mg of methotrexate sub cutaneously. It is helping and I just
started taking an extra mg of folic acid and it seems to be helping with
nausea. The biggest problem I am having besides pain is brain fog and
exhaustion. The complete fatigue is horrible as sometimes I do not know how
I will make it across the room. I was feeling really good but I do believe
it may have been endorphins brought on by the excitement of my trip and
seeing my baby.
I am not doing a garden this year as my hands hurt a lot. There is only me
and my husband so it is not a big thing as there was when my son and
daughter were at home and I canned a lot. I am enjoying my pets; a sheltie
named Dutchess who is 11, 2 cats: Smokey 13, and fluffywho is 8. They are my
calming factor. It is hard to get stressed out patting a cat.
This August I will celebrate my 19th Wedding anniversary. We have been
together 22 years now. He is do helpful with my health problems as I have
bipolar as well. He encourages me tonap if I look tired and I must say it
was rocky at first but I am glad I stuck it out with him. He is my life

Heh heh... Long story... I was trying to get the window to go back
down after getting an old swam cooler out of it, and used too much
force. WAYYYY too much force. But my right thigh caught and kept me
from falling about 5 feet onto the ground. Talk about a bruise. I
have a lump across the entire to of my forehead and have had a headache
all week long. And the door thing, one of the doors to the bathroom
came off the hinges, and I was moving it and it slipped and landed
fully on my left big toe. The entire door on the one toe. It's now
twice the size of a normal toe. I hate toe injuries. *sigh* Poor me.
Oh well, I'll go internet shopping, it lifts my spirits!

| Reminds me of a neighbor's kid many years ago. Parents were afraid they were
going to be hit with child abuse - it went something like this: seems the
kid did some stupid trick and broke his arm. They came home from the
hospital and the kid went to the bathroom but when he flushed, the toilet
didn't work right so he lifted the lid on the tank (one handed) and proceed
to drop it on his foot. Back to the hospital for stitches and an x-ray. On
his way back into the house when he returned from the hospital (with a
bandaged foot and a crutch) he tripped on the front steps and sliced his
head open. Back to the hospital!
It's funny now. The kid was such a brat that he deserved every bit of his
pain. It also kept him home for a few days and therefore he couldn't
terrorize the neighborhood. I did feel sorry for the parents. I ran into
someone many years later and they said he grew up to be a nice guy. Thank
goodness!

Love happens and is not planned. OTOH, childbirth should be planned but
sometimes it just happens. LOL
I've known a lot of folks who have never married until they were in their
40's. I've known others that were never happily married until they went
through a few marriages and then found the right spouse later in life. My
grandmother outlived 3 husbands but it was her third husband with whom she
was happiest and she didn't marry him until she was 73!

So far this summer season has been more bearable for both Marie and I,
compared to last year at this time. As long as the weather isn't in
rapid flux, she isn't in great pain that the Tylenol can't touch.
I was doing my usual Friday night outing, and it got cut short with the
3-4 times a year ache in a few joints which have been plaguing me since
about 15 years of age or so. Tonight I'm out in the same tavern and
there are no problems. My point of all of this was that I told my server
how the pain was less intense than what Marie goes through much of the time.

Marie and I must remain without children, and we're happy with that. The
nurses from Accordant call her occasionally and reminded her that she
should not have children. I never wanted them, so we're happy.

| I think the trick is starting with a young puppy or kitten for most
anything. Problem is I always seem to wind up owning rescued adult animals.
Then the vet recommends brushing their teeth! Yeah, right. I'm going to be
able to explain to an eight year old animal that since it has come to live
in my house it must tolerate having its teeth brushed daily to maintain
dental health. That's usually followed by a major growl and I simply break
out the milk bones*. LOL

*Milk Bones (for non-USA) are a brand of little biscuits/cookies shaped like
bones that are supposed to help dogs teeth stay clean. Dogs just think they
are treats.

Not doing much for the summer.... going to the lake (need to order more
Solumbra), kids going on vacation w/my parents, going to the beach for 4th
of July, going to pool (home association beach club) and then
baseball/softball.
Catching up on my reading, gardening and trying to keep the kids busy.
Most of all, trying not to feel any worse. With the heat here, I know the
swelling and fatigue will be high.

One morning one of my cats jumped into bed to wake me
for breakfast (his, of course). In the course of nudging me
around he stopped and sniffed my face. I opened an eye
and said "Good morning," heavy on the exhale. Pitta Katt
pulled back, wrinkled his face in disgust and dragged a paw
across my mouth several times.

branches....almost flying across from tree to tree lol! we have 3 garry =
oaks that umbrella our grasssy area and I feel sure that they haven't =
figured if he is an animal or a bird yet <g>!
I love cats... so much attitude and yet so cuddly too!

As well, Grace has gotten the nod and has published her 3rd novel of her =
