Howdy,

Well Wednesday I went to a real Endo doctor to try to solve the heart
effects from my Synthroid. He was a very straight forward kind of doctor.
Answered all of my questions truthfully I felt and I feel confident he will
help me. Curiously he asked me if I was diagnosed by a doctor or a nurse
practitioner. Of course it was a doctor but I felt he did not like or have
confidence in NP's. He said my problem may be with taking a generic version
of synthroid instead of the name brand meds. Then he proceeded to tell me
why. He told me about how the FDA tests drugs and it sounded logical how he
explained it. Especially when it came to drugs that don't effect you until
months down the road. So he increased my meds but I am taking the brand name
Synthroid. So far I have had no palpitations. My fingers are crossed and
have said many prayers. My far reaching hope is if I can finally get my
thyroid close to normal, my tinnitus would let up but we shall see. He also
told me how to take the Synthroid and what not to take with it including
grapefruit juice. I take it by itself as soon as I get up even before I
brush my teeth, with a glass of water that I will have to get used to
drinking that much early in the morning.

So far I am doing ok with the plaquenil. No digestive upsets as long as I
take it with food. And guess what! So far my pain in my left side has
subsided. Don't know if it has to do with the Plaquenil or as a side benefit
of taking 1/2 pill of hydrocodone occasionally when my back flares up. Or
maybe it's the Curves exercising I have been doing. Amazing that I don't
even get sore doing it but I can tell I am getting stronger physically.

Time will tell how I do.

PS. A question about Solumbra UV protective clothing. Has anyone tried it?
Is it worth the cost? What would you recommend for hot weather?

I have solumbra and find it very nice.

But I prefer www.coolibar.com clothes line better. Why? more light weight
and a little cheaper. I just ordered me some long pants, with a wide band
waste and got them yesterday. Awesome color of blue to go with my white
hoodie. The pants are very light weight

go the above site and see the NEW line of clothes to pick from. THe hoodies
are great for outside and well see for yourself and call them to send you a
free catalog.
I know other like solumbra and I do too cause I got two shirts from them but
again, cost wise coolibar is great. I also have a bathing suit from
coolibar with the high colar and long sleeves. REALLY light weight, so I can
do exercises early morning and still be out of the sun. IT came with a
HAT....
I ordered me some vanacream for sensitive skin?? 60 SPF protection. LOOKS
white but dang, goes on clear. NO fragrences no dies no nothing but
sunblock. Nice so far.

sorry your meds are confusing. I was on synthroid and went to generic kind
of it, no problem but they did have to lower the dose after a year on it
like that but why? Says body changed LOL. yeah more ways than one

Hey Janers,
Thanks a lot for giving me that site. They have some possibilities. I was
wondering if you could do something for me if you are at home.
Would you look at the ingredients of vanacream that you ordered to see if it
has any Parabens or "para" anything in it? If it doesn't, it might be just
what I have been looking for. I am majorly allergic to those preservatives.
When you ordered it, how long did it take to arrive? I need it next weekend.

lists assorted Vanicream products, with their ingredients.
The bad news is that their SPF 60 sunblock has alkyl
benzoate in it, which might be a problem for you. They
have no parabenzo-etceteras or other paras in the
ingredient list. Its full ingredient list is:

Actives: Titanium Dioxide 7.5%, Zinc Oxide 7.5%
Other Ingredients: Alumina, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate,
Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cetearyl Isononanoate,
Cetyl Alcohol, Isopropyl Titanium Triisostearate/triethoxycaprylylsilane
Crosspolymer, Magnesium Sulfate, Methylpropanediol,
PEG-12 Dimethicone, PEG-30 Dipolyhydroxystearate,
Phenyl Trimethicone, Polyethylene, Polyhydroxystearic Acid,
Purified Water, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Stearyl Dimethicone,
Tetrasodium EDTA, Tocopheryl Acetate, Triethoxycaprylylsilane.

The good news is that their SPF 35 Sports sunblock
doesn't have alkyl benzoate in it. Its ingredients are:

Active Ingredients: 8% Zinc Oxide (Z-Cote HP1), 7.5% Octinoxate

Tridecyl Neopentanoate, Cyclopentasiloxane, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 dimethicone,

PEG-30 Dipolyhydroxystearate, Vitamin E, Magnesium Chloride Hexahydrate,
Triethoxycaprylsilane.

Thanks William for the info. I ordered some anyway, and will put it in a
spot before I try it on my face as a test. It's just that I am so desperate
to find something I can use. I also windburn very easily. We shall see.

Vanacream is

No sensitzing chemical sunscreens, dyes, fragrance, masking fragrance,
lanolin, fomaldehyde, parabens and other preservatives. Right on the label
in front It is sunscreen sensitive SPF 60, there is a 30 but I do not know
what that is.

Does have titanium dioxide and zinc oxide as the active ingredients. IF you
call coolibar, just ask them if there is a money back guarantee on that
product since it states what it can and can't do and is sensitive
NO paba or oxbenzone either
It says SUN PROTECTIVE PRODUCT WITHOUT SENSITIZING CHEMICAL SUNSCREENS
Ordered if on line with card, and if you call them they ship right away,
just ask them. there is toll free number. 1800-926-6509 Minneaplois MN...

I got mine in a week due to the long holiday weekend....so...just call
them...

I love Solumbra clothing. The shirts/jackets/pullovers have vents to help
you stay cool. The vents alone make the clothes worth the money.
