| As you all know I have been having problems with my heart and I have been on
Thyroid medicine for over a year with increased dosages 4 times.
I decided to go to my Rhemy because my GP was just not listening to me. My
Rhemy runs a zillion tests and just recently ran a TSH test on me again.
It was 0.10 and he said his parameters were 0.34 to 5.6. Does that not look
like my GP has just overdosed me on Synthroid? I am thinking that may be the
reason I have been having PVC's and at night all I can hear is my heart
beating. If this is the case, I don't think I will step in my GP's office
again. I will get my Rhemy to recommend a GP for me to go to. Finally
someone listened!
Unbelievable,
Paulette

| No wonder you are flipping while in bed or whenever. OF course thryoid
will do that to you.
What the "h" is the matter with that doctor. Didn't her run a yearly
thyroid on you at all???? or just up your dose if he thought?
How sad for you to have to go through that. No wonder you thought "heart
attack"??

| I agree with Janers it is sad that they get to where they just won't
listen . It is almost like we are their problem children and will just
do anything to shut us up. Well maybe they should wake a day in our
shoes. Like tuesday it was imperative I see the pain dr for this RSD
stuff, well I am still waiting for the office recommending it to fax
all the info as usual.

| What is so bizarre is that he took my TSH every time he upped my medicine. I
think he was or someone in his office was reading the report wrong or they
don't understand what the normal parameters are. So glad I decided to take
matters elsewhere.
My Rheumy reduced my dosage to 0.05. Guess they do not want to bring me down
too fast. It would be funny if I didn't need it after all. Only after over a
year of this. Duh! Doc go back school!
Drunk on Synthroid,

| From what i've heard, it is far better to under-treat the hypothyroid then
over-treat it for reasons
you just mentioned. It would be interesting to collect the records of your
former GP to find
out the reasons for why he/she wished to up your dosage of synthroid. Oh,
and just for your info,
sometimes synthroid is not the best prescribed medicine to take and you may
wish to look into other
thyroid hormone replacement drugs available.
Were there blood tests to back up the reasons your GP increased your
thryroid dose?

| My daughter is dealing with Grave's disease and they are going at it
same way she has small nodules on both sides but he would rather moniter
her closely and have her watch her diet and excersice than to just throw
a med at her. He say''s better being careful what she eats( we did this
together this summer when we started with this new endochrinologist. She
didn't really eat that bad she has never had a sweet tooth but does like
chocolate milk so she cut that out at night and stuff like that so she
sleeps a little better. She started doing crunches ( I can't but use to
before Lupus) and suggested it, those help she said.
So sometimes we do have to find our own ways I think.

| Cynthia,
About a year and a half ago, I was at the doctor for something else and he
looked at me and said my neck area looked swollen for which I could not even
notice. Then he sent me to an endo and they did a needle biopsy on me that
hurt like H.... Anyway they did some blood tests and said I had antibodies
for Hashimotos. I had a few nodules but were not cancerous. I guess that is
what the biopsy was for. I have been on thyroid med ever since. What got me
is that I had no symptoms. Was feeling much better then than I do now. I
almost wish they had left well enough alone. I have heard of Hashimotos
turning around. I don't think they have tested me for that since then. My
Rheumy has reduced my medicine and I can already tell the difference. They
want me to come in about 4 weeks from now and test again, and if it is
better and I am feeling better then I can cancel my cardiologist appt. Now
it looks like we are going to have to look for another GP. It's bad when you
loose trust in a doctor.
Thank goodness I decided to take matters in my own hands.

| Yup I agree after all who is more tuned in and feeling from the inside
than us I have never ubderstood the drs with the attitude that we have
no say only they can know. I fire them immediatly.
