That is what Outlook (Express) does. I haven't seen enough post from webtv
users that tried to put in a delimiter and sig to know. Outlook users can
get quotefix to correct this although it doesn't by default. It will fix
the horrible choppy line wrapping in replies that long threads can make a
post almost unreadable.
