| Long story short I had a doctor that I just fired. It took me awhile
because I had to have another doctor first. Even though I had a positive
ANA this doc, his name is John, actually told me I didn't have Lupus at
one point even when the test clearly say I have it.
I had the Antinuclear Ab test done. The high reading was 15. (Test
done in 1997) No test done since. It had a speckled pattern and was
Homogeneous as well.
At first John tried me on some Lupus medications, I don't remember just
what it was and the other drug was a cortisone type drug. Cortisone
drugs I have never been able to take but he couldn't just take my word
on that of course. When he told me I didn't have Lupus, I didn't
realize he wasn't being straight with me.
I recently started seeing my gastro more often and learned I have GP and
may of been born with it. I than remembered the positive ANA test; when
I showed the labs he said, I have Lupus. I also got a new GP recently
who knows about Lyme and strongly believes in Naturopaths as the first
course of action when ever possible.
Basically all I'm doing is homeopathic treatments (for Lyme/digestive
problems and in the mix it lists treatment for heart, liver and
kidneys). I have never had labs finding any organ involvement but my ND
sees a need for these helps.
My gastro is now putting me on medications for the GP. I'm on Zelnorm
and Metoclopramide right now. So far no bad reactions to these
medications but so far I see no benefits either. I told my gastro I
have Lyme, that I had the bulls eye rash as my proof. He ran the labs
for this both times when my other doctor was told when I first started
going to him about that rash and he never tested me. I told my gastro
that I didn't see a need to keep getting tested until it came out
positive, that the rash is all the proof I need plus I am getting the
homeopathic treatment for that and I will not be changing my treatment.
I asked him if he thought I should get tested again at some point for
the Lupus and he said no the treatment would be the same as I'm doing
now. Note: he has a copy of the lab report of the medication that was
first tried for Lupus that says I was not able to take the medication.
I got the information on the LDN, that I don't have the energy to
research more about at this time, that I can give my gastro saying I
heard of it but don't know if it has merit or not and see what he says.
