Good sunscreen for face?
|
|
|
| Hi Everyone,
I am still here; just plodding along in low gear, if you know what I mean.
My question is about sunscreen/moisturizer for the face. I am now using Oil
of Olay complete for sensitive skin, and I like it really well, but it is
only SPF 15. I am coming to the bottom of the bottle (as opposed to the
bottom of the barrel? LOL), And so am wondering if anyone knows of a nice
sunscreen moisturizer with a higher SPF. Must be unscented, and for
sensitive skin...
Love to all,
Mair

| I have used Skinceuticals 30 SPF for a long time. It moisturizes and
obviously has better SPF. It is a brand my dermatologist recommended. I
can't say it is specifically for "sensitive skin" but I do have very
sensitive skin and have never had any problems with it. There is no scent
to it.

| Which one do you use? I notice there are several tubes there with SPF30.
Thanks for your help in this

Hi Mair - I use the "Ultimate". The Daily is only 20 SPF. The Physical
might work well too but it has less zinc oxide and includes titanium dioxide
which I avoid. I personally think that my skin has reacted to titanium
dioxide though it's been a long time since I tested the theory.
my derm feels the "z-cote" zinc oxide is the best UVA/UVB block. Problem, I
can't see if the ingredients have changed since last I bought - i would have
thought they'd have mentioned "z-cote" since it is a respected trade zinc
oxide.

| And you can buy it in a drugstore, or is the only place to get it is online?

| Don't know about skinceuticals but 'MARCELLE' is found in stores and online
and also has no chemicals that are adverse for sensitive skin; it too is a
hypoallergenic and perfume free product for sensitive skin types and has a
SPF of 30 as well.
I buy the 'moisture cream' in a jar and it is for day and/or night and is
nice and light and moisturizes well.... really good for under blush or
makeup as it is so light.
HTH, hugs, Shelagh

I'm using PIZ BUIN 30SPF Radiant Face and it's so good. Been using it
all summer down under and it's been brilliant. Feels really nice too
with a pleasant scent. had to change after the Elizabeth Arden face
sunscreen the Specialist recommended was no longer available. The PIZ
BUIN comes in a nice little slender container that you can slip in
your purse too with a flip cap. A lot of sunscreens bring me out in an
itchy rash but I actually look forward to putting this one on and it
is non greasy. Best I've used in 17 years anyways

Not too bad. It's summer here or the end of it. Managed to put my back
out again!! shifting a trucklod of bark I've been sifting and moving
around my groves of trees for the past 2 years(it's taken me that long
between avoiding the sun and ups and downs of a Lupie!) Enjoying
"retirement" and pottering round. My husband is trying to figure out
why I can't paint the windows outside because of my back but managed
to paint 1 wall of our dining room bright yellow with a small
paintbrush yesteday when I got too sore sitting. I told him it was
"theraputic"!! Waiting to see when the flu shots arrive down here.
Still plodding along on Plaquenil though way past the "toxic" stage
according to the eye doctor who was sure it would have shown up on my
retinas after 17 years.I think I must have a guardian angel. In good
company with my pooch Brie, my constant companion.Pop in evey so often
and spending far too much time playing the "Sims" game.Take off to our
caravan by the lake every so often. Life is pretty good all things
considered.Hope this finds you well and looking forward to finer
weather over there.
