Can anyone tell me the difference between a node (not a lymph node but the
types which develop like with RA) and a calcification, if there is one?

From what I can remember from university; a node or nodule can appear
anywhere in the body--solid lump of tissue, non-specific just a describing
word for any lump in general .Calcification is an accumulation of calcium
salts in tissues, worse after an injury or long-term inflammation--like RA;
normal in bones and teeth.
God, I sound like I've swallowed a dictionary!! it's amazing the information
you store ' up-top' without realising.
Hope this helps,
Deb
