| Hey Bev,
I remember I had to do the same thing.
It is all elementary. Like the things you knew in Freshman year at
highschool? Do you still remember how to multiply fractions? Heck, I
didn't but what the heck, still passed that sucker over 20 years ago. But
that was then. I have no idea if the placement tests vary from school to
school or if the questions are near the same.
I have to catch up here reading. Have fallen behind. Guess that is okay as
long as I do not fall on my behind.

| Bev, they made me take the placement tests when I went back to school last
winter after a 15 year break from the last attempt. I took them with no
preparation at all. English part consisted of picking the punctuation
errors in a sentence, identifying which word was a noun, verb, adjective,
adverb, reading a couple paragraphs and answering the questions regarding
its content. Really really basic stuff. The math portion was like intro to
math and algebra...addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, factors,
primes, square roots, and fractions. I think there were a couple story
problems too. It really wasn't too bad at all and took maybe 30 minutes for
both.
Good Luck

| from what I can remember, if you've been out of education for over 10 years
there is a test to take just to see if you'll cope with the standard of work
expected of you, Different tests depending on what level of study you're
aiming for; that's in the UK,unsure about elsewhere.

| If that is all it is then my 5th grade granddaughter could pass it! She
loves MadLibs! LOL
I'm still thinking I might try to brush up on things. I keep thinking if
don't do well they will stick me in a really easy, boring class and I'll be
frustrated because I've spent all that money on nothing! I'm worried about
things such as past-pluperfect.

| Oh, if I had to take a math test I'd be in big trouble. That was my forte
but this many years later and not using it.......I doubt I could do much
other than the simple stuff. I have to look up formulas if I need them to
cut a piece of wood!!
I think placement test might very slightly from one college to another
depending on their classes and standards. Placements can't be as bad as CLEP
testing and I passed all the English CLEP tests many moons ago and I hated
English!

| Heck, I thought i am half-way intelligent and could not remember anything
about multiplying fractions or such. Have not had the need to use algebra
much in the 15 years before I took the test. I did pass but needed remedial
math class. What can i say - i never used algebra to balance a checkbook.
LOL
I do not think they flunk you on any of it... just make you take the
remedial before getting back into the swing of things.
